Research

The Community Studies Program takes a transdisciplinary approach to social science research, and researchers affiliated with our program are dedicated to dialogue and relationship-building with communities, organizations, and institutions that are working toward social change.

Our affiliated faculty lead many research centers and initiatives across campus that put into practice the ethical research methods taught within our program and that address key issues related to the major areas of specialization available to our students: health justice and economic justice and political economy. Our students also gain hands-on research experience during the required field study portion of our academic program.
